If Wal-Mart goes through with these plans on the scale they no doubt imagine, will the Left finally get off their case?
When you company wide power bill is bigger than most nation's gross domestic product, some $1 billion a year, Wal-Mart has to look for ways to cut costs. By employing more green technology, saving power, saving water and other steps, even a 20% reduction in power costs comes to $200 million dollars, money that translates into one thing for Wal-Mart--lower prices for its customers and more customers.
Seems sensible to me.
Now lest the lefties out there think that Wal-Mart is all smoke and mirrors with the green technology initiative, their test stores are monitored by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory--two governmental agencies who no slouches in the energy field.
