Eddie Johnson to Fulham

Fulham already has a substantial crew of American internationals on their squad with goalkeeper Kasey Keller, defender Carlos Bocanegra, midfielder/striker Clint Dempsey and striker Brian McBride. But this trade rumor might bring another American to the Cottagers:
Harry Kewell to Fulham, you say? It is thought Liverpool would be willing to offload the winger, along with his massive pay packet and sky-high medical bills for a mere £1.5 million.

Should Roy Hodgson fail to land Kewell, he will blow the cash on USA striker Eddie Johnson, who sensibly opted to stay with the Kansas City Wizards rather than sign for Derby last summer.
the KC Striker proved prolifigate for the Wizards last season with 15 goals in 30 matches for a team that did not do well last year in the MLS. What might be an iteresting move for Roy Hodgson would be to sign Eddie Johnson and Watford Marlon King (for a fairly decent sum of money) and shift to a two striker format with Johnson and King providing speed and goal scoring and move Dempsey to an attacking midfielder role. Running a 4-4-2 with someone like Robbie Savage in a holding midfielder role.

Another idea pops into my head as well. Hodgson might also see the return of Brian McBride soon and the tall American striker might be an excellent target man for a 4-5-1 formation with King/Johnson sharing attacking midfield duty with Clint Dempsey.
