The FEC has posted an interactive map that shows the amount of money raised by candidates broken down by state of origin of the contributions. Not unexpectedly, California leads with the most contributions with New York not far behind. Texas, Florida and Illinois round out the top five states, which given that they are the 5 largest states in terms of population, it is not surprising.
One of the cool things is that you can click on each of the active candidates and get a map of their contributions and a break down of the size of the contributions.
