Update on World Cup 2010 Plan B

According to the guys at World Soccer Daily, the three countries on the list for FIFA's back up plan should South Africa blow their attempt to host the World Cup is Spain, England and the United States.

Of this list, I think Spain would be the top of the list. England is getting the Olympics in 2012, and while the U.S. could put the World Cup on very well in short order (lots of really big, really good stadiums), I would rather see us host the 2018 World Cup with lots of time to really develop and put on a great tournament.

I still hope the World Cup happens in South Africa because it is important both for FIFA and African football to have it there, but in reality, there is much work to be done.
