Karl Rove is leaving the White House citing a desire to be with his family. Fine, he has served his President and country and has earned some quiet and a chance to make mega-bucks on the lecture circuit for a while.
My question is what will the Democrats do when the get spanked in future political battles? To paraphrase Richard Nixon, Democrats won't have Karl Rove to blame for kicking them around any more?
Some people blame Rove for the divisive nature of national politics right now, and perhaps he does deserve to share some of the blame. But it takes more than just one man to make politics as poisonous as it now appears to be. While Rove may have been an attack dog, to my knowledge he never publicly castigated any opposition leader as an idiot.
