Don Young Has To Go

The GOP does not need another Congressman to resign because he is going to jail. Don Young (R-AK) needs to step down now and Minority Leader John Boehner needs to be leaning on Young hard to make it happen. Ace of Spades notes:
When your own partisans (such as myself) are actively rooting for Republican Congressmen to be arrested, you've got a problem.

Deal with the problem. Eliminate all earmarks. All of them.

And force the corrupt among you -- and you know who they are -- to retire before the next election.

Not only do actual conservatives hate criminals on general principles -- law and order and all that, remember? -- but you're no good to us compromised, able to be blackmailed due to your crimes into voting against us.
I am not advocating Young's arrest, unless of course he deserves it, but politically, the GOP needs to be giving the impression of doing it cleaner and better than the Democrats if they want to get back in power. refraining from earmarks--all earmarks--as a party is likely to achieve that end.
