Giuliani's Daughter Support Obama--Oh No the World is Ending

Wow, this is important news!! First of all, who gives a care about what the 17 year old daughter of Rudy Giuliani believes or who she supports. Last time I checked, this is a free country and children often disagree with the parents (particularly early on) and when the relationship is strained, as apparently this one is, why is it so shocking that a daughter will support different candidates.

Not exactly a barn burner of a story at Slate.

UPDATE (3:57pm): NRO reports that Giuliani will address his daughter's support for Obama. That is not necessary and simply caves to the lowest common denominator.

Update: (5:03pm): The problem with reporting on the likes and dislikes of a 17 year are that they shift so quickly. From the AP:

The daughter of Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani signaled she was supporting Democrat Barack Obama, then backed off when faced with questions.

On her Facebook profile, 17-year-old Caroline Giuliani listed herself as a member of Obama's Facebook group, "Barack Obama (One Million Strong for Barack)." She left the group Monday morning after the online magazine Slate sent an inquiry and later in the day, a spokeswoman said she did not intend to comment on the 2008 race.

"Before the presidential campaign got under way, Caroline added herself to a list on Facebook as an expression of interest in certain principles," said the spokeswoman, Joannie Danielides. "It was not intended as an indication of support in a presidential campaign, and she has removed it."
