Professors More Political than Exxon

While it may be hard to believe, but according to the Center for Responsive Politics, America's college professors give more money to campaigns that big oil boogeyman Exxon. Rick Moran notes:
Academics are now the 13th largest group of political contributors, in front of the 16th ranked oil and gas industry. Do you think all those Democratic candidates bashing special interests will refuse to accept money from such a powerful lobby?

Don't hold your breath.
And thus is illustrated the primary argument about campaign contributions, special interests are who you say they are. If you are a liberal, big oil is bad, but liberal academics are good. The opposite holds true if you are a Republican. In the end, it is merely data from which it is impossible to deduce anything other than college professors tend to give more money to Democrats.
