Almost three months ago, I posted a story and comments on a memorial to Gunner's Mate 2nd Class Danny Dietz, a Navy SEAL who was posthumously awarded the Navy Cross, and the touchy-feely crowd who resisted the idea of a statue of a man carrying a gun. Well, the Memorial is complete Michelle Malkin has links to various stories. Here is a picutre of the memorial, courtesy of Slapstick Politics. Slapstick Politics has lots of links about the story, including a video of Dietz's wife's tribute and how members of Rolling Thunder stood guard over teh statue prior to its dedication to prevent vandalism.
Best quote I read: --"It's one thing to say you love your country," he said. "It's a whole different level to be willing to die for it. That's a hero."--12-year-old Zac Hardy of Centennial. Zac Hardy gets it and he gives me hope for the future.
