When President Bush announced the Surge, I predicted to my colleague, if this works, Bush will be seen as a visionary and touted as a successful president. If it failed, he would be seen as a failure.
In the end, though, I think history will judge George W. Bush as a great man who displayed amazing prescience about the importance of combatting terrorism--even if history doesn't like the means he chose.
