Althouse asks "Is the job of Vice President to a Clinton worth having?"For Obama, in a word, no!
Let's assume that Obama does not win the nomination. He would be far better served either running for Governor in Illinois to get some of that vital executive experience or continuing in the Senate, although I think the former is a better option. What he doesn't want to do is get tied to the Clinton machine.
Let's say Obama runs for governor in Illinois. If he wins, he would be the first black governor of that state, arguable a large and still important state. He would be able to prove his ideas and burnish his reputation a little. Even a full term in Springfield would yeild massive dividends for him, particularly if his state administration is viewed as a success.
