Big Three Points for Fulham

A goal in the 67th minute by Captain Brian McBride gave Fulham a 1-0 win Everton as the Cottagers continue to work to avoid relegation.

The win puts Fulham just one win from safety with eight games remaining.

Fulham manager Roy Hodgson started the speedy Eddie Johnson with McBride up top and the pair provided a number of chances in the first half, giving Everton and their American keeper and U.S. side teammate of Johnson, Tim Howard some scares early on. Johnson had several shots just miss, usually high. I have a pretty good idea what Hodgson will be drilling Johnson on during the week, getting the ball down and on goal. Still, Johnson is making his presence felt.

McBrides first goal since suffering an injury early in the season came a time when things are looking desperate for the Whites.

Next up is Newcastle, who currently sit just above the relegation zone. Fulham sits two points behind Bolton, who still have a game in hand. But just five points separate 13th Wigan from 19th place Fulham, so the reletation battle continues.
