I would not have predicted this and I am sure the Dom Kinnear didn't either. But New York certainly looked like they wanted it more.
Dane Richards was on fire. Danny Cepero probably just replaced Jon Conway in net for New York as the starter. Cepero kept NY in the lead and made some outstanding saves and corrected his own mistakes (pulling the ball off Ching's head after he got chipped was superb).
So there will be a new MLS champ. My money is still on Columbus, but both New York and Real Salt Lake put everyone on notice that they are not to be taken lightly.
But only one of those teams can advance as they will face each other in the Western Conference final in Salt Lake. At least they won't be playing on astroturf with throwball lines on the pitch.
