My father,and many other coaches, said that a goal scored on a beautifully set up play in the run of the game only counted as one, the same as set-piece goal and the same as the dirtiest of garbage goals. The same holds true for games. A win by scrappy, skin of the teeth, blood, sweat, and tears counts for three points just like the most elegant game ever played.
Right now, Fulham should be happy with three points obtained in any fashion.
