Six men were planning to attack the Fort Dix Army base and "kill as many soldiers as possible," federal authorities said Tuesday.My borther was stationed briefly at Fort Dix, which if I am not mistaken is largely a training base for the Army, although I could be wrong.
The men, Yugoslav nationals, were arrested early Tuesday, said Michael Drewniak, a spokesman for the United States Attorney's Office in New Jersey.
FBI Agents arrested five of the suspects in Cherry Hill and a sixth suspect was arrested in a separate location. Officials said the men attempted to purchase AK-47s from an arms dealer secretly cooperating with law enforcement.
Two things jump out at me immediately. First, why Fort Dix? As I said I believe it to be largely a training facility, although if you want to kill a lot of soldiers, that might be the place to do it. But going on base is not a wise move, because a certain segment of the base population is likely to be armed.
Second, note that the gun dealer was working with federal authorities. I wonder how much of these "secret" arrangements are happening. Working with gun dealers makes sense for the authorities and could be much more widespread than one might think. Of course, it doesn't stop the illegal aquisition of weaponry, but it would make the legal route more difficult if not impossible.

Looks like another case of failed US foreign policy coming home to roost. In the 80’s the CIA trained up the Muhajedin - who would then become Taleban and Al-Queda. Now it would seem that the CIA mission of the mid-ninties of training and abeting the muslim successionist KLA terrorists has created radicalised elements ready to attack US forces on US soil!!!

Current US foreign policy wants to totally dismember the State of Serbia and reward such radical views with an independent Kosovo - creating another failed state such as Afghanistan but this time in Europe!!! Is it not time someone reflected on earlier mistakes and corrected them before it’s too late!
