The campaign may still raise money for what is called it's GELAC account - the "General Election Legal and Accounting" Fund. This fund is used to cover accounting and especially legal expenses, and can total as much as $20 million or even more (it's not cheap complying with "McCain-Feingold").Of course, the legal and accounting would be cheaper if McCain hadn't foisted the McCain/Feingold bill upon the political public.
